Özet

The household budget survey conducted in 2015 by Turkish Statistical Institute (TSI) with a total of 11491 households were used in this study. The effects of the socio-demographic and economic factors of household heads and households both on the probability of edible oils and spending levels of edible oils and milk-dairy products were analyzed by using the Heckman Sampling Selection System (HSSS). The results of the statistical analysis show that the edible oil likelihood should be estimated together with the expenditures of edible oils and milk-dairy products in a system. In addition, the positive and statistical significance of all the correlation coefficients in the system necessitated the positive relationship between non-controllable factors and the two product group expenditures in the system. On the other hand, the majority of the socio-demographic and economic factors of households and household heads have had significant impacts on both the amount of spending levels of edible oil and milk-dairy products with likelihood level of edible oils. We have presented possible marketing strategies and policy recommendations in accordance with these impacts.
