Özet

Although there is no sound scientific information, documents and findings on the origin of the Traditional Turkish Theater, it is possible to associate the origin of the Modern – with text Turkish Theater with the Ottoman sefaretnames (ambassadorial reports). The fact that the ambassadors (sefir) gave wide coverage to the theater and opera plays they went to in Europe in the sefaretnames and gave examples from Western-style theater had a serious impact on the administrative levels of the state, especially the sultans. Finally, these narratives about Western-style theater have caused the Western-modern theater understanding to become a source of inspiration / an object of wannabe. After this point, Turkish Theater has a new formation, a new identity. This identity is the dramatic theater - with text, which is the name of the understanding of theater that has been dominant in the west for over two thousand years. In general, the sefaretnames are one of the main factors of the mentality transformation in the Ottoman Empire and the change of point towards the West. In other words, sefaretnames, which are one of the main motivations of the historical breaks, fundamental paradigm changes, systemic-institutional renewals and life style / culture transformations in the last period of the Ottoman Empire, are the main reference sources for a whole empire in search of a new model. In addition, there is a dimension of sefaretnames that should be evaluated in terms of Ottoman diplomacy. In the last two centuries, the Ottoman Empire had been obliged to develop its relations with Europe mutually and to integrate with the West due to the changes in the balance of power. While necessities leave him face to face by the fact of instrumentalization of a number of factors towards innovation and westernization at this point, especially theater and opera, which is a musical stage play, had important missions. So much so that theater and opera, which had the basic dynamics of the Western understanding of art, had come one of the important motivations of international relations, European diplomacy methods and the will of Westernization in this process. While this study focuses on ambassadorial report, which have such important functions, it aims to shed light on the main inspirations of the sharp paradigm shift in Turkish Theater / the formation of Modern Turkish Theatre. In the content analysis of the study, the inductive approach, which is one of the requirements of the qualitative research method, was used.
