Özet

Annotation: In the phrasebook, an important place is occupied by ready-made questions and phrases concerning the provision of people and transport animals with food and water (drinks). In conditions of war and constant movement, phrases with common names for food and forage are expected to be more usable. Only in a special section devoted to communication with the owner of the house, various names of dishes, drinks, fruits, etc. are presented. It should be emphasized that this section played a signi cant role in the formation of more speci c ideas about the food culture and everyday life of the inhabitants of the Turkish state among the addressees of the phrasebook, Russian soldiers. Thus, the section contributed to the establishment of an orientation towards more constructive contacts and directly contained a requirement to respect local rules of conduct. Some of the names of fruits that do not grow in Russia had names similar to the Turkish languages, sometimes even borrowed from a common source.

Key words: food, dishes, drinks, Russian, Turkish, phrasebook, food culture, recent borrowings, transliteration.
