Synthesis of Tetrasubstituted Pyrroles and Pyrrole-Based Chalcones and Investigation of Their Cytotoxic Effects on MCF-7 Cell Line

Özet

Some tetrasubstituted pyrrole derivatives from corresponding amines, acetylacetone and nitrostyrenes were synthesized by using (diacetoxyiodo)benzene (DIB) at reflux temperature in ethanol. Their chalcone derivatives were also synthesized via the base-catalyzed ClaisenSchmidt condensation reaction. All compounds were evaluated for their in vitro antiproliferative activity against MCF-7 cancer cell line using MTT assay. Relationships between structure and biological activity were determined by comparing their activity results.
