Özet

One of the diagnoses that should be kept in mind in neutropenic patients admitted to the emergency service for abdominal pain is typhlitis. There is no definitive physical finding for typhlitis. Diagnosis is made based on contrast-enhanced abdominal computed tomography (CT). Findings in tomographic imaging are discussed in the case presentation. As soon as it is considered as initial diagnosis in the emergency department, treatment with broad-spectrum antibiotics should be initiated as indicated in our discussion.
