Özet

Milk and dairy products have a very important place in animal foods in terms of human health. The milk is a food item that easy to digest which can meet all the needs of the creatures alone, can develop it, can make it efficient and keep it alive for a long time. Consumption of milk and dairy products is higher in healthy and well-fed communities. The aim of this study is to determine which factors affecting the milk consumption amounts of consumers who lives in Erciş district of Van province. For this purpose, the survey was conducted that according to the Simple Random Sampling method with 165 consumers. Dependent variable Monthly Milk Consumption Amount (MMCA), The Money Paid to the Drinking Milk (MPDM) according to the independent variables affecting in the result analysis, Home Ownership (HO) and Monthly Average Spending (MAS) have been determined via Decision Tree Model. MPDM variable is the most important variable affecting MCA and it is divided into 4 different sub-branches (Adj. P value=0.000, F=41,885, df1=1 ve df2=163). Consumers who pay 15 TL or less a month for drinking milk consume 5 L of milk per month and with they constitute 13% of the study sample. In other branches, 2. sub-branch 15-28 TL, 3. Sub-branch 28-30 TL and 4. sub-branch more than 30 TL more paying consumers are involved. In 2. sub-branch consumers have affected the ownership of the house that resides, those who own property drink more milk than others. monthly average spending amount variable affected of 4. sub-branch, who spend monthly 1000 TL equal or less 28 L per month, and, those who spend more than 1000 TL per month consume 17.5 L of milk. Less milk is consumed as monthly spending increases. Moreover, those who spend less than and equal to 1000 TL affected the money paid to the milk again on the 7th sub-branch, and, those who pay less than 40 TL average 19.2 L, those who pay above 40 TL consume 34.3 L of milk per month.
