CLINICAL LYMPHOMA MYELOMA & LEUKEMIA, cilt.20, sa.9, 2020 (SCI-Expanded)
Hairy cell leukemia (HCL) is rare and indolent lymphoproliferative disease that progresses with relapse and remission periods. We investigated the initial clinical characteristics and risk factors affecting the outcome of patients with HCL. Retrospective data of 65 HCL patients were evaluated according to patient characteristics, initial hematologic and biochemical parameters, response rates, progression-free survival (PFS), and overall survival. Patients with higher lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels experienced relapse and/or progression more frequently, and initial elevated LDH level was associated with shorter PFS.
