Asst. Prof. Ercüment KOÇ

Dr. Ercüment Koç was born in Rize in 1987. He completed his primary and secondary education with honors and graduated successfully from Rize Science High School in 2006. He completed his undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies in the Department of Mining Engineering at Karadeniz Technical University. Since 2011, he has worked as a research assistant in the Mining Engineering Department, Mining Operations Division at Atatürk University, and subsequently between 2020 and 2024 in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Production Metallurgy Division. Dr. Koç is currently serving as an Assistant Professor (Dr. Faculty Member) in the Production Metallurgy Division.

His undergraduate thesis focused on the coding and visualization of software that performs economic analysis and optimization in open-pit mining operations. His master’s studies were on natural stone, aggregate, and concrete mixture calculations. His doctoral research was conducted within the scope of a TÜBİTAK 1001 project and focused on sulfide mine wastes, cemented paste backfill design, and their environmental impacts. To date, he has been involved in numerous Scientific Research Projects, as well as TÜBİTAK and KUDAKA projects, and he is currently actively participating in many ongoing projects.
