Özet

The methanolic extract of various parts of Ranunculus glacialis and their fractions were analysed for their antioxidant and antimicrobial activities. Total phenolic and fiavonoid contents of n-hexane, chloroform, ethylacetate and n-butanol fractions were determined by using IIPLC analysis which indicated the presence of appreciable levels of these phytochemicals. It was observed that the methanol extract and aqueous fractions of stem and leaves showed high values of phenolic content. The GC-MS analysis of essential oil and n-hexane extract was carried out to determine the nature of the volatile compounds present in them. Finally, cytotoxicity of the methanolic extract and fractions was assessed by haemolytic activity. The methanolic extract and chloroform fraction showed maximum value of % haemolytic activity. The study reveals the potential of Ranunculuc glacialis as a biologically active plant.
