This thesis study titled "Transparency as a concept and object in today's art" has the characteristics of being interdisciplinary; When it is considered in this context, transparency is being discussed by quite different disciplines such as politics, economy, culture, religion, and it cannot be said that there is a compromise about what transparency is or should be. However, it cannot be dismissed that it is one of today's trendy concepts. That transparency is being discussed in a wide range has also caused some differences in the meaning attributed to it. It can be considered as a benign concept in terms of transparency, accountability, accessibility and clarity. On the other hand, by those who see it as an instrument of domination or the state of society in a rut, transparency is meant to be exhibitionism in the sense of privacy; thus, it can happen to be a malicious concept for being an instrument of domination on human body. Considering that defining the concepts as patterns would not be right, studying the transparency as an artistic phenomenon, using it in the sense of means-ends for artistic works and exhibiting its characteristics of situation determination makes up the core of this study. Although we consider the discussions about transparency as a concept and object in today's art with a holistic view, the cases reflected in art objects are dealt in this study. The transparency themes in the works of art are studied and it has been tried to reveal the dimensions of transparency ideationally
