Abstract:In the past as well as today energy production is an important factor any country for the development. Turkey is growing day by day, and it is required to produce mass level of energy. Turkey doesn't have the natural resources at a large, for that reason, Turkey is importing energy from the other country. Policy makers implement the appropriate sustainable energy policy in order to meet the daily requirements for the Turkish household. In this study, relationship with economic growth of energy consumption and imports have been investigated for Turkey. Time serieswas used 1980 to 2014 for Turkey. In order to make the data into normal series, applied "Cubic Spline Interpolation" and converted our yearly series into quarterly series. It was found that the applied time series unit root test and all the variables were co-integrated at order 1. In order to find the long run relationship among total energy consumption, total energy import and GDP (For economic growth), ıt was applied Johansen Co-integrationtest. Analysis results showed that a long term relationship between the variables. ECM was conducted to investigate whether short-term continuation of the relationship over a long period. Negative values of the error correction processing showed that the balance between the variables in the long-turn. Consequently, Granger causality test is made, and by analysis results were determined the relation with GDP of the energy consumption and energy import.
