Abstract:

Aim: This research was carried out to determine the breastfeeding self-efficacy and happiness levels of mothers. Material and Method: This research was conducted in a descriptive nature. The research has been made with 300 breastfeeding mothers with children between the ages of with a child 0-2 between 19.07.2019-01.03.2020 in Karayazı Merkez Family Health Center (FHC), Karayazı Göksu FHC and Karayazı Elmalıdere FHC located in Karayazı district of Erzurum province. The data were collected by using the ''Survey Form'', ''Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale (BSES)'' and ''Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (OHQ)''. In evaluating the data; percentage distribution, mean, t-test, Analysis of Variance and Pearson Correlation analysis were used. Results: It was found that the mean total score obtained by the mothers from the Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale was 151.45 ± 11.74, and the total mean score obtained from the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire was 152.82 ± 15.04. When the relationship between BSES and OHQ mean scores is evaluated; there has been found is a positive direction relationship between breastfeeding self-efficacy and happiness. (r = 0.366, p = 0.000). Conclusion: It was determined that breastfeeding self-efficacy and happiness levels were good according to the total mean scores of the mothers from BSES and OHQ. It was determined that as the breastfeeding self-efficacy level of the mothers increased, their happiness level increased.
