Abstract:

Changing needs with the impact of globalization, increasing production and consumption speed and innovations in technology have made the development of the transportation sector necessary. It is seen that the transportation systems of developed countries in the world are better coordinated, have wider transportation networks and newer transportation vehicles. Transportation systems are considered an indicator of a country's development. In the literature part of this study, firstly, the concept of transportation, factors affecting transportation, transportation types and the high-speed train line, which is an alternative transportation system, and then the development of transportation systems in Turkey and Erzurum in the world are included. The last section is the application section and includes the findings and comments resulting from the analysis of the data obtained from the surveys. The research consists of two parts, and the first part contains demographic questions, analyses, graphics and comments about the participants. In the second part of the research, 5-point Likert questions asked to the participants, analyzes and comments on these analyzes were included in our study. In this study. Especially in Erzurum, which systems are used in freight and human transportation, for what reasons they are preferred, what kind of changes they demand in the future and what their expectations are, and their thoughts on high-speed train and other advanced transportation systems have been determined. As a result of the findings, it has been seen that the expectations of the people living in Erzurum for the high-speed train line will be met positively.
