Abstract:

Aim: The examination of the effect of training on pituitary gland hormones and liver enzymes in elite wrestlers Material and Methods: This study included 20 volunteers being Elite level wrestlers aged between 20-48 years-old. Exercise programme was composed of 30 minutes of jog-trot, free exercise and gymnastics, 25 minutes wrestling technical applications and light wrestling then, the subject did wrestling for 6 minutes (with to cycles 3+3 (having a rest of 30 seconds) before and after training, the samples were taken to determine the anterior pituitary gland, thyroid and adrenal medullary hormones and liver enzymes. Blood and urine samples were taken for analysis were kept under appropriate conditions until to test day body composition measurements were performed with Tanita TBF 300 brands working with the BIA method. Results: Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), growth hormone (GH), epinephrine, norepinephrine, aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) levels increased significantly; Body weight (BW), the body mass index (BMI), basal metabolic rate (BMR), lean body mass (LBM), total body fluid (TBW), and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) levels decreased significantly (P 0.05). Conclusion: Our result showed that the exercise as a stress resulted in raise is some hormones and enzymes in the body. In particular, the increase in hormones during exercise, the body's metabolic and endocrinologic response to exercise, can be considere as adaptation to exercise. person of dealing with the wrestling, did not affect the basal levels of pituitary hormones.
