Abstract:

Aim. The aim of the study is to analyse physical and physiological conditions of basketball players before and after the competition, which do training different regions in Turkey and to examine the regional differences by blood lactate degree. Material and method. In total, thirty eight students has participated in this study which consist of Erzurum Team (1869m) and Trabzon Team (10m) competing in Regional League, Usak Team (919m), competing in Turkish Basketball Second League. The physical and physiological conditions of the control group have been identified by using Tanita TBF-300 body analyser and blood lactate degree has been identified by using Lactate Scout device. Results. The average age of Uşak taam is bigger than the other team players (p<0.05). BWP of Uşak taam is significantly higher than other teams (p<0.05) when pre-test is examined. According to post-test, BFP of Uşak taam is significantly higher than other teams (p<0.05). Blood lactate degree of Uşak is found significantly low compared to other teams both during having rest before the competition and after it (p<0.05). Conclusion. Neither the players of high-altitude team nor the players of sea level team have higher levels of lactate which are tested before and after the competition compared to Uşak team. Among none of the competitions to which research have been applied, it is seen that the players ever exceeded the anaerobic limit that is 4 mmol/L. Besides, the difference in the condition level is likely to be the most important reason behind the lower level of blood lactate despite of the fact that the age average of the players of Uşak team is higher than other team players.
