Abstract:
Purpose: It examines whether the teachers' dedication to the profession differs according to various variables (gender, age, etc.). Method: The survey method, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. The research sample comprises 608 teachers working in primary, secondary and high school schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in the Yakutiye, Palandöken and Aziziye districts of Erzurum province. The 'Personal Information Form' and the 'Teaching Profession Dedication Scale' were used as data collection tools in the research. The Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis H tests were used in the data analysis and descriptive analyses. Findings: It was seen that the teachers' level of dedication to the profession did not show a significant difference according to the variables of age, marital status, professional seniority and graduated faculty but showed a significant difference according to the variables of gender, school level and branch. Conclusions: It has been determined that the teachers' dedication to the profession is very high. Female teachers have been determined to have higher levels of dedication to the profession. It has been found that primary school teachers' dedication to the profession is higher than that of high school teachers. According to the teachers in the branches of fine arts, religious culture, primary education and information technologies, Teachers in the fine arts branch have higher levels of dedication to the profession than those in the science and mathematics branches.
