Abstract:

Turkish culture and literature has experiened great changes since the beginning of the nineteenth century. In this periot western civilization has been effective on Turkish culture and literature, especially France has been the domineering one with her culture. In our study we try to find out the reflection of Paris, capital of France, m the Turkish fiction. The works that we have studied are those written between 1859 and 1908 (the declaration of Turkish Monarchy). In all these literary pieces we have seen that Paris is handled m terms of setting and character. The conclusion part of the study is a kind of judgement of all the previous chapters in the discourse. This study has been prepared for a response to the question: 'What is the imparlance and place of Paris in Turkish culture and literature?'
