Method: This study was conducted as a descriptive study based on qualitative research model. In the first stage of the study which was carried out by document analysis method, the written exam questions which were applied in the 8th grade of secondary schools were obtained and then the questions were examined and evaluated according to the cognitive steps of the new taxonomy. In the second stage, the questions of the central exam in the first and second semesters of the same academic year were examined according to the new taxonomy and then the evaluation was carried out according to the findings.

Findings: According to the data obtained from the study, it was determined that the written exam questions with the central exam questions applied are mostly in correlation to the new taxonomy steps.

Result: The questions that applied in the 8th grade Turkish lesson are in correlational steps with the questions of the Central Exam shows its positive effects on students in Efeler district of Aydın province who show great success in central exam. This observed correlation comes from the teachers’ central exam foresights who also apply these foresights to their exam questions. As the reason why teachers place less questions about the upper levels of the new taxonomy, it can be said that the questions asked in the exams of Turkish language in the central examinations are questions corresponding to the lower mental skills.
