Abstract:

When we look at the things we see from the drawings made on the walls of caves to the works discusssed today whether they are art or not, how art works and exhibition veneus influenced each other, what art is useful for in the context of society and individual, the historical process for the presentation of picture is at the stage of questioning about how the quality of art work as a form of expression makes the distance between artist and audience visible. In our thesis study, which aims to make sense of this level and evaluate the developing and changing situations of historical process in the context of form-function relationship, it was examined what lead to both formal and expressive differences of artistic creations that spread to places and eras, how, where, when and why the thing artist produced was converted into artistic creation, how it was presented and what kind of reactions presented things caused, namely, what are the locators of art work. From the creations giving the impression as if they were in a closed box to the everything that can be taken any destinations and winning the mobility from the ground-ground under the feet, on high-untouchable point, eye level on the wall and even in a handbag, constitute measurability as a picture- they were illustrated as proof of semantic differences acquired according to the current location. Destroying the distance between art and life, the picture is at issue of being positioned within all possibilities no matter there is a gallery-exhibition hall for being hang or viewed in any case, open-closed location, inside-outside and above-downstairs. This thesis study was also supported by a series of pictorial form evaluating the practicality of the obtained datas during and after the design, and the visibility of the effort putting interaction into art object, production and consumption, viewer and the work has been provided.
