To investigate the chemical and electronic changes at metal oxide surfaces produced by modification and to provide a deeper understanding of the effect of surface functionalization on the electrochemical performance of metal oxides, we would like to perform valence band NEXAFS measurements of the nanoparticles for metal, oxygen, carbon and nitrogen atoms by using Synchrotron radiation at SESAME.
