Proje Özeti

This research investigates the impact of shoreline dynamics on salt production in

Cirebon, West Java, Indonesia, a major salt-producing region. Existing studies on economic

losses in agriculture often employ simplistic methods, underestimating impacts on agrarian

landscapes. This study addresses this gap by employing a geospatial approach, integrating

Landsat-7, Landsat-8 OLI, and Sentinel-1 satellite imagery with salt parcel data from the

Indonesian Geospatial Agency (BIG). Using Digital Shoreline Analysis Systems (DSAS) and

GIS, we will quantify shoreline change rates (EPR, LRR, NSM), identify vulnerable salt

farming areas, and assess the economic consequences of shoreline dynamics. The findings will

inform evidence-based decision-making and support the development of adaptation strategies

to mitigate the impacts of shoreline change on salt production in Cirebon, contributing to

sustainable coastal management practices. The output of this research is targeted to be

published in Indonesia Journal of Geography (Q3) and indexed proceeding from international

conference.
