A new teaching program has been established to be
implemented in the academic year 2017-2018 in order to improve English language
teaching. This program includes writing, listening and speaking skills beyond
English reading skills. The program, however, recommends the use of tools
called tech-packs for the development of the mentioned skills. In order for
these technological tools to be involved in classroom activities, English
teachers need to be able to use the tools readily and integrate them into the
pedagogical approaches and course processes. For this reason, in this project,
it is aimed to develop the skills of designing and implementing effective,
efficient and satisfying lessons by using the teaching technology tools
(videoblog, e-portfolio etc.) that English teachers need in the renewed
program.
For this purpose, a training package consisting of two
days of face-to-face training and one online session for 18 hours was planned
for each group of 30 teachers in Erzurum, Erzincan and Kayseri provincial
centers. The introduction of educational technology tools (videoblog,
e-portfolio etc.) in face-to-face education and practical activity design for
the goals in the new program will be emphasized. The trainings focus on the
development of appropriate teaching activities in the direction of the learning
objectives that are given to the technical use of the tools. Approximately
three weeks after the face-to-face training is over, a 2-hour online session is
planned in which teachers design in face-to-face sessions and share activities
and practice experiences in their classroom. In this way, reaching the project
targets can be determined by process evaluation.
It is expected that the project will contribute to
enhancing the quality of language education in secondary schools by
facilitating the implementation of new teaching programs and spreading
innovative practices such as training, experience sharing, event preparation
book.
Bu amaçla Erzurum, Erzincan ve Kayseri il merkezinde
görev yapan 30’ar kişilik her bir öğretmen grubuna iki günlük yüz yüze eğitim
ve bir online oturumdan oluşan toplam 18 saatlik bir eğitim paketi
planlanmıştır. Yüz yüze eğitimde öğretim teknolojileri araçlarının (videoblog,
e-portfolyo vb.) tanıtımı ve yeni öğretim programındaki hedeflere yönelik
uygulamalı etkinlik tasarımı üzerinde durulacaktır. Eğitimler, araçların teknik
kullanımından ziyade verilen öğrenme hedefleri doğrultusunda uygun öğretim
etkinliklerinin geliştirilmesine odaklanmıştır. Yüz yüze eğitim bittikten
yaklaşık 3 hafta sonra öğretmenlerin yüz yüze oturumlarda tasarlayıp,
sınıflarında uyguladıkları etkinlikleri ve uygulama deneyimlerini
paylaşacakları 2 saatlik bir online oturum planlanmaktadır. Bu sayede proje
hedeflerine ulaşılıp ulaşılmadığı süreç değerlendirme ile belirlenebilecektir.
Projenin eğitimler, deneyim paylaşımları, etkinlik
hazırlama kitabı gibi çıktılarının yeni öğretim programının uygulanmasının
kolaylaşması ve yenilikçi uygulamaların yaygınlaşmasıyla ortaöğretim
kurumlarındaki dil eğitimi niteliğinin artırılmasına katkıda bulunması beklenmektedir.
