Proje Özeti

Magnetic FexNi1-x alloys have an important role in fundamental and applied research, as they are a soft magnetic material with strong magnetization, low coercivity, high magnetic permeability, low thermal expansion and very good corrosion resistance. Due to its widespread use, a complete understanding of the physical and chemical properties of these alloys is required. In particular, it is necessary to determine the momentum distributions and charge transfers of 4s and 3d electrons.

The Compton Profile was a unique and powerful technique for investigating the electronic properties of solids, liquids and gases. For this reason, in this study, Compton Profile measurements of FexNi1-x alloys were carried out only on alloys with x=0.51, and there is no study in the literature that examines the effect of change in Fe content in the alloy on electron momentum distributions and charge transfers in detail. Therefore, in this study, the effect of variation of Fe content on electron momentum distributions and charge transfers in FexNi1-x (x=0.20; 0.52; 0.55; 0.58; 0.61; and 0.64) alloys was investigated. It was found that the change in Compton Profile values increased with decreasing Fe amount in the alloy. The part where this change is important is the q<0.2 region where the valence electrons cause predominantly Compton scattering.
