Özet

Distance education has long been an important part of professional development. Distance education has advantages as well as disadvantages. Conducting the practical courses that need to be done face-to-face, and making it understandable by the students, poses difficulties especially for the educators. Time management skills are an important component of college student success, especially in online courses. For this, it is essential to use technological opportunities at the highest level. Improving student learning for all in such courses that turn research into practice demonstrates the great potential of using innovative computer-based technology. Purpose: This study, especially hospitals, rehabilitation centers, laboratories, etc. It was conducted to evaluate the feasibility of these applications with distance education, especially in courses that require face-to-face applications. Method: One of the key developments in higher education during the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic that started in 2020 and continues is the conversion of education to the online environment. However, it has become inevitable in online applications. In this case, the striking detail was the quality of experience, education, and training. In short, conducting practical courses with distance education has become a central method for both students and instructors all over the world in 2020. In this study, the applied education programs of the Vocational School of Health Services were discussed. Opinions were received from the units where these procedures are carried out, especially in programs that require operations at the patient or device, such as laboratory services, medical imaging techniques, operating room services, on how to carry out practical training remotely. In line with the opinions of specialist physicians, technical personnel, and instructors, views were exchanged on how to conduct distance education and applied for courses efficiently. Results: There is very little research on distance education, and it would not be an exaggeration to say that there are limited contributions that support students' completion of practical courses with distance education, their usefulness for students, and their effectiveness in making a positive contribution. For this reason, opinions were received on what needs to be done to conduct education more efficiently, especially in special situations where distance education is compulsory. The measures to be taken to make education more efficient were discussed with the educators working in distance education during the pandemic process that affected the world. Conclusion and Suggestions: The only way for higher education to respond to technological developments, demographic changes, and economic pressures is the development of distance education. The creation of virtual classrooms and laboratories that will meet the needs of applied courses based on departments will provide solutions to such problems.
