Abstract

Northeast Anatolia Region (NAR) was divided into two sub-regions as Erzurum (TRA1) and Agri (TRA2) according to Statistical Regional Units Classification (NUTS). In 2015, number of the cattlein Turkey is 14127837, and TRA1 and TRA2 regions have 5.83% (822306 heads) and 8.36 % (1182356), respectively. Milking animals in our country is 5598773 heads, and 5.70% (319590 head) of them is in the TRA1 region and 9.08 % (508640) of them is in the TRA2 region. Average milk yield of per animal in Turkey is 3035.72 kg, 2863.52 kg and 2633.86 kg milk yield per animal are obtained in the TRA1 and TRA2 regions. In spite of total number of the cattle and milking animal in TRA2 region is higher than that of TRA1 region, amount of milk produced by per animal in the TRA2 region is lower than amount of milk produced by per animal in the TRA 2 region. Because of that reason, it will be useful to increase artificial insemination and practices for improving of the breeds in TRA2 region.
