Özet

This study was conducted to draw attention to the effect of adolescents' personality traits on substance use. Despite all the precautions taken worldwide, it is seen that substance addiction is increasing rapidly in adolescents. Adolescents are the group of people most prone to addiction. adolescent individuals; Substance addiction, which seriously affects physical, mental, psychological and social aspects, is a public health problem. Adolescence is a critical period for substance use prevention as individuals acquire habits that can potentially be sustained throughout adulthood. The critical age for starting drug use coincides with adolescence. Substance use is most common in young people between the ages of 18-25. During this period, adolescents; Has a strong tendency towards experimentation, curiosity, sensitivity to peer pressure, rebellion against authority, and low self-worth. This makes adolescents vulnerable to drug use.
