An Investigation of Biological Control Possibilities against Fusarium proliferatum (Matsush.) Nirenberg ex Gerlach Nirenberg, (1976) on Conic Red Pepper

Özet

Fusarium proliferatum which is a root rot (collapsing) disease in pepper from Solanacae and it is causing losses in yield in agricultural crops. The chemicals used for control are a problem due to phytotoxicity, residues, environmental pollution and harmful effects on human health. In recent years, the use of environmentally friendly preparations has increased due to the development of environmental and human health awareness and the search for alternatives to plant protection products that cause residual problems in plant products. This study was carried out to determine antifungal activities of 52 candidate bioagent bacterial strains and 2 fungal isolates against F. proliferatum isolated from conic pepper on Petri plate assay. Five bacterial and 2 fungal isolates that showed the highest efficacy in in vitro were then tested in in vivo performed with 3 replications. It was observed that 3 bacterial strains and 2 fungal isolates are effective against F. proliferatum in in vivo conditions. As a result, it was determined that Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas chlororaphis, Bacillus sp. and T. harzianum can be used as biological control agent for control of F. proliferatum on peppers.
