Özet

This study is an experimental study to test the effect of a model study for musical performance in traditional Turkish music on enhancing students' musical-technical skills and on being able to perform a selected ballad in a desirable way. The sample are the fourth year students who have taken violoncello instruction at department of Music education at faculty of education, Ataturk University in 2010-2011 academic year. In the experimental design, six students were randomly chosen for the experimental and control groups, each group consisted of three students. In the study, 2x2 split-plot design was used, and through this design performance evaluation scale was applied to both group for pretest-posttest scores. To analyze the data, Mann Whitney U test and the Wilcoxon signed-ranks test were used. In the findings, while the differences between the pre and post test results in the experimental group were seen significant in favor of posttest results, the differences between the pretest and posttest scores of the control group were found to be insignificant. According to findings, the research design prepared for musical performance, it can be said that this study design has an important effect in enhancing students' musical and technical skills in the experimental group.
