Abstract

The experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of different levels of grape seed (GS) and grape seed extract (GSE) on performance, egg quality parameters, yolk oxidation, and serum traits in laying hens. A total of one hundred and sixty eight Lohman layers, 44 weeks old were divided into seven treatment groups, each of which included six cages of four hens each. Experimental groups were fed standart commercial corn-soybean layer diet which also served as a Control (C) diet. The experimental diets were as follows: C + 0.5% GS (GS1), C + 1.0% GS (GS2), C + 1.5% GS (GS3), C + 675 mg GSE/kg (GSE1), C + 1350 mg GSE/kg (GSE2), and C + 2025 mg GSE/kg (GSE3). The experiment lastet 12 weeks.
