Abstract

Althougt sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) has been grown as a confectionary crop for a long time, oilseed sunflower types have more recently been grown commercially in Eastern Anatolia Region. During the 2002-2003 growing seasons, field experiments were conducted to evaluate the agronomic performances and genotypic differences of some sunflower hybrids (13 oil genotypies) under Erzurum-Pasinler agro-ecological conditions. Seed yield (kg/da), plant height (cm), head diameter (cm), stem diameter (cm), 1000 seed weight (g) and oil rate (%) were investigated in this study. According to two years. averages, TR-3080 gave the highest seed yield with 257.615 kg/da while Coban and TR-4098 had the highest seed oil rate with % 47.385 and % 47.328 respectively. In this study, TR-3080, TR-4098, TR-6149 and Nantio genotypes can be advised to obtain beter yield in Erzurum-Pasinler agro-ecological conditions.
