Özet

The fact that the globe is constantly in motion indicates a possible vibration on the earth. Earthquake, which occurs in the surface vibrations that occur as a result of the spread of the energy of the fracture (relative movement between the plates) in the earth's crust as a wave movement, generates energy in the superstructure and substructures. This energy is likely to have some advantages as well as disadvantages such as damaging structures and causing loss of life. If the energy of the earthquake, which acts as mechanical energy on the buildings, is converted into electrical energy, it can be used to meet the electrical energy needs of people by consuming natural resources. In addition, earthquake energy, which is likely to be produced as electrical energy, is also a possibility to provide the necessary power to the actuators used in the operation of active semi-active or hybrid control systems, as well as energy recovery and conversion. In this study, the energy that can be generated by far-field earthquakes in a typical reinforced concrete structure with certain parameters such as damping coefficients, soil properties, and stiffness has been investigated by calculating. It has been determined that the reinforced concrete structure can absorb some of the earthquake energy and it is possible that an energy that can be used in the relevant parts of the building is formed.
