ZIF-8 metal-organic framework (MOF) coatings are promising for improving the corrosion resistance of biomedical titanium alloys; however, achieving stable coatings during electrochemical deposition remains challenging. This study investigates the effect of SiO2 incorporation into ZIF-8 coatings on Ti-45Nb via electrophoretic deposition. Structural analysis confirmed the preservation of the ZIF-8 framework, while SEM revealed a denser morphology with SiO2 addition. Electrochemical tests in PBS showed enhanced corrosion resistance compared to ZIF-8 alone. SiO2-assisted coatings provide an effective strategy to improve the protective performance of MOF-based coatings on Ti-Nb alloys.
