A new species of the genus Baris Germ., B. goekseli sp. n., is described from Northeastern Turkey. The new species differs from the closely related B. nodaeae Becker from the Eastern Caucasus in the shorter, broader, and more convex dorsally body; sharper apical construction and parallel sides of pronotum; more coarse elytral striae noticeably widened basally, and carinate outer surface of fore tibia. Along with B. nodaeae the new species differs from B. kirschi Desbr. from Central Asian deserts in the rounded humeral shoulders of elytra and the structure of the scutellum, narrowed apically and not elevated above elytral surface.
