Özet

This study aimed to determine the effect of the education given to patients undergoing Total Knee Replacement (TKR) and Total Hip Replacement (THR) surgery on the anxiety, fear of surgery, and comfort levels of patients and the factors that affect it. A quasi-experimental control group pre-test and post-test Design was used to examine the effects of training given to patients undergoing TKR and THR surgery. In the evaluations made on the morning of the operation and the day of discharge, the mean state anxiety score of the patients in the experimental group was found to be statistically significantly lower than that of the patients in the control group (p ' 0.05). In the evaluation made on the morning of the operation, the mean Surgical Fear Scale score of the patients in the experimental group was found to be statistically significantly lower than that of the patients in the control group (p ' 0.05).
