Özet
Aim: The aim of this
study was to compare the effects of Fertile Plus and laser applications on
spermatological parameters of ram semen following cryopreservation.
Material and Method: In the study, four rams were used, and the semen samples were
divided into four groups, each consisting of four animals: Group 1:
frozen-thawed control semen; Group 2: frozen-thawed semen exposed to laser
treatment; Group 3: frozen-thawed semen processed through the Fertile Plus
chip; and Group 4: frozen-thawed semen exposed to laser treatment and
subsequently processed through the Fertile Plus chip.
Results: In this study, the
effects of laser, microfluidic chip , and the laser+chip combination on
spermatological parameters of ram semen were investigated. Data obtained from
ten replicates demonstrated that laser and chip applications preserved plasma
membrane integrity, reduced the rate of abnormal spermatozoa, and enhanced
mitochondrial activity. The highest mitochondrial activity and the lowest
plasma membrane damage were observed in the laser+chip group. No significant
differences were detected among the groups in terms of DNA fragmantation. The
findings indicate that the combination of laser and microfluidic chip can be an
effective approach to improve the quality of ram semen.
Conclusion:
Laser and microfluidic chip applications reduced plasma membrane damage,
decreased abnormal spermatozoa rate, and increased mitochondrial activity. The
best results were obtained in the laser+chip group. No significant differences
were found among the groups in terms of DNA fragmantation.
