Direct liquid fuel cells: Fundamentals, Advances and Future, Ramiz Gültekin Akay,Ayşe Bayrakçeken Yurtcan, Editör, Academic Press , Massachusetts, ss.275-305, 2020
Direct
liquid fuel cells (DLFCs) have potential applications for portable and mobile
applications over hydrogen based fuel cells due to their higher theoretical
energy density, easy handling and improved safety storage. The research
numbers, fuels and interest from both academia and industry is increasing
regularly with the advancements and commercialization of conventional FC
technologies such as PEMFC and SOFC. Each fuel has its own advantages and
drawbacks. In this book, the fuels and DLFC studies until today were explained
in detail in related chapters. The main objective was to bring them together
with a classification and systematic also. This chapter gives a review of the
fuels and a summary of the current state, recent trends (statistics) and the challenges
for the development of DLFCs, with especially emphasizing the most critical
components, the catalysts and ion exchange membranes, as well as other
components.
