Özet

Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) may be a significant mental health concern for pregnant and postpartum women. A few studies have shown that PTSD can have a negative impact on women, their relationship, and birth outcomes. Furthermore, there are as well evidence that it may also affect infant emotion regulation and development. Although there has been extensive amount of research on the correlates of perinatal PTSD; the treatment of PTSD remains still unclear. This chapter presents recommendations for pharmacological treatment as well as the risks of untreated PTSD during the perinatal period for PTSD.
