The aim of this study is to investigate the methodological trends and main findings of the studies from the English language teaching (ELT) research during COVID-19 pandemic in Turkey. The study employed a systematic review methodology. Data were collected using the databases of Web of Science (WoS) and Education Research Information Center (ERIC). 51 articles were analyzed with the content analysis method. Results regarding methodological trends revealed that there was an increasing trend in the frequency of publications in 2021. In addition, teacher education and language teaching and learning were the most studied subject areas. As for the language skills, writing and speaking were the most commonly examined skills. The most frequently used research design was qualitative approach. Data were predominantly collected through interviews and a large majority of samples consisted undergraduate students with 101-300 sample size. Data were most commonly analyzed descriptively. As regards the main findings, advantages and disadvantages of emergency remote teaching in ELT were found to be the main themes of the study. Based on the findings, recommendations for the stakeholders and future research are provided.
