Abiotic stress remains a significant threat to global crop productivity, with soil salinity emerging as one of the most pressing challenges due to widespread irrigation practices and inadequate drainage systems. This chapter addresses the definition, underlying causes, and global impact of salt stress on agricultural systems. In response to the increasing salinity, plant biostimulants have gained attention as innovative tools to enhance crop resilience. Biostimulants encompass a wide range of substances derived from organic and inorganic materials and beneficial microorganisms. This review evaluates their potential in mitigating the detrimental effects of salt stress by improving plant physiological and biochemical responses. Emphasis is placed on their influence on stress-related genes, proteins, and signal transduction pathways. The mechanisms of action, such as reinforcement of antioxidant systems, hormonal regulation, and metabolic reprogramming, are critically examined. Recent advances, experimental approaches, and application strategies in biostimulant research are also synthesized. The chapter outlines current limitations and future perspectives in optimizing biostimulant use for sustainable and salt-resilient crop production, providing valuable insights for researchers and agricultural practitioners.
