Özet

Urban green spaces have many ecological, economic, social and psychological functions, especially increasing the quality of life. From past to present, the existence of green spaces in our cities has always been questioned and the presence of green spaces in cities has been accepted as a criterion of development. The reason for this is the positive effects of green areas on people and the comfort of life they provide. In this study, which examines the active green areas of the city of Sivas, the adequacy of children's playgrounds, parks and sports areas in the active green area category is mentioned. Investigations were carried out within the boundaries of 65 neighborhoods of the city and within the scope of zoning boundaries. The active green areas proposed in the zoning plan and currently in the area were calculated on the basis of m(2) with the help of the Arcgis program in the digital environment. It was concluded that in Sivas, the amount of active green space per capita calculated by taking into account the parks, children's playgrounds and sports fields included in the defmition of active green areas within the scope of laws and regulations is 2.1 m(2)/person. As a result of this study, although the open and green areas of the city of Sivas could meet the 10 m(2)/person open and green space standards specified in the zoning legislation on the plan, it was seen that it could not catch up in the application area and even remained quite below, and also that there is an imbalance in the distribution of open and green areas.
