Özet

Türkiye and the Turkic Republics constitute a significant area of interaction not only due to their geographical, historical, and cultural ties but also in terms of economic relations. In recent years, dynamics such as regional trade agreements, energy collaborations, and joint investment projects have led to an increase in academic economic research on this region. This study presents a bibliometric and content analysis of academic publications focusing on the keywords "Türkiye", "Turkic Republics" and "Economy". Furthermore, existing academic literature employing the terms 'Turkey' and 'Turkish Republic' as keywords has been reviewed, and the identified studies were incorporated into the analysis. The data were compiled from the Web of Science (WOS) and Scopus databases, systematically examining academic trends, publication types, and thematic structures in this field. The bibliometric analysis employed in this study includes metrics such as the temporal distribution of publications, the most prolific authors, institutions, international collaborations, and citation networks. Given their perceived importance, particular emphasis was placed on cross-country collaborations and keyword mapping. Meanwhile, the content analysis categorizes the thematic areas of the studies (e.g., economic policies, econometric modeling, international trade, development strategies) and publication types (e.g., articles, conference papers, reviews) to identify research gaps and emerging trends. A separate bibliometric evaluation of 135 studies from WOS and 200 studies from Scopus revealed that the majority of publications originated from Türkiye, with an increasing trend post-2020. Keyword analysis showed a strong focus on terms such as "dependency theory", "development", "business groups" and "customs taxes" frequently associated with "Türkiye". Content analysis results indicate that research on the economic dynamics of Türkiye and the Turkic Republics exhibits an interdisciplinary structure, with certain themes (e.g., energy economics, regional integration) receiving more concentrated attention. While journal articles were the most common publication type, book chapters also represented a significant portion. This study aims to guide future research in the field by providing a comprehensive assessment of existing literature.
