Özet

Dental splinting is an effective treatment for stabilization of periodontally or traumatically displaced teeth, implanted or fractured teeth, teeth in which periodontal attachment loss or reduced support is attributed to endodontic and orthognatic surgical procedures. The form and anatomy of the splints may prevent the effective plaque control on this areas. This problem can be achieved with combined and concerted efforts of dentists and patients with together. Traditional oral hygiene systems should be modificated prevention of the health on the splinted areas. Good communication and giving comprehensive health education to the patients may protect hard and soft tissues around of the splints, and may effect positive direction of function, esthetic and healthy of the splints. In this article has been described effective plaque control methods and devices for maintaining the oral health of the splinted teeth and discussed importance of prevention from caries, and maintaining of periodontal health of splinted teeth with literatures.
