© 2020 IOP Publishing Ltd.This study provides information about the formation of colours with an experimental activity based on the reflection of coloured lights from pigments. The activity shows the formation of colour in a simple and entertaining way. The lights are reflected by being changed by different coloured pigments. This activity provides an opportunity to compare and generalize the behaviour of light when reflecting from pigments. RGB colour pixel values can be used to understand the colour generated by the light reflected from the pigment. In the activity, a phone camera, coloured papers and a coloured LED lamp are used.
