A study on characteristic features of apricot grown in Erzincan, Malatya and Igdir provinces

Özet

This study, conducted in the Malatya, Erzincan and Igdir provinces, investigated characteristic features of local apricots. Fruit weights of apricot cultivars grown in the Malatya province were between 22.43 g (Sekerpare)- 45.53 g (Soganci), fruit weighs of apricot cultivars grown in the Erzincan province were between 24.20 g (Sekerpare)- 40.18 g (Mahmudun Erigi) and fruit weighs of apricot cultivars grown in the Igdir province were between 25.37 g (Ordubat)- 63.14 g (Salak). Most common apricot cultivars grown is Had Haliloglu with 85-90%in Malatya, Hasanbey in Erzincan with 60-65%, Salak in Igdir with 85-90%. The existence of differences in rootstocks used existed between and within provinces and wild apricots seedlings in Malatya and Erzincan, and from cv.Tebereze in Igdir are being used.
