Özet

Objective: This case report aims to evaluate the 2-year clinical and radiographic success of amputation/coronal pulpotomy treatment with MTA in a permanent molar tooth with completed apex development. Case Report: A 10-year-old boy with no systemic disease was admitted to Atatürk University, Faculty of Dentistry, Pedodontics Clinic because of pain in his lower left tooth. Clinical and radiographic examinations revealed a periapical lesion in the mesial root of tooth number 36, which had completed apex development, accompanied by provoked pain. After amputation treatment with MTA (MTA Angelus, Soluçoes Odontologicas, Londrina, Brazil), the tooth was restored with composite resin. At the 24th month clinical follow-up, the tooth was completely asymptomatic. In addition, radiographically, the lesion in the mesial root healed and the root tip closed. Conclusion: Long-term clinical and radiographic follow-ups demonstrate successful outcomes for amputation treatment with MTA in permanent molar teeth with completed apex Development.
