A sacrococcygeal teratoma is a tumor that develops at the base of the coccyx. It occurs in 1 out of every 35,000-40,000 live births and is the most common tumor in newborns [1]. The tumor originates during embryonic development when the primitive streak fails to differentiate among mesodermal, ectodermal, and endodermal tissues in the embryonic disc [2].
