RADIATION MEASUREMENTS, cilt.39, sa.4, ss.409-415, 2005 (SCI-Expanded)
Experimental K-shell absorption jump factors are derived from mass attenuation coefficients measured using an energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) spectrometer and samples in the form of the compounds Ag2O3, CsHCO3, Ba[(OH)(2)] and La2O3. The measurements, in the region 25-40keV, were done in a transmission geometry utilizing the K-alpha and K-beta X-rays from different secondary source targets (Sb, Pr, Nd and Sm) excited by the 59.5 keV gamma-photons from an Am-241 annular primary source. The present results constitute the first measurement for this combination of energy and elements. Also a good agreement is obtained between the experiment and theory. (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd.
