MaterialsandMethods:AdultADHDpatientswereevaluatedintermsofsociodemographiccharacteristicsandsuicidalbehavior/self-mutilation,suicideideation, impulsivity, andfunctionalitywithclinicalinterviewsandscales.Comorbidpsychiatricdiagnoseswere excluded. LevelsofvitaminB12andfolateweredetected. All resultswerecomparedto healthycontrolsstatistically.ThenADHDpatientsweredividedintotwogroupswithand withoutsuicidalbehavior/self-mutilationandcomparedclinically. Results: Therewere40ADHDpatientsand40healthycontrols inthestudy. Suicidal behavior/self-mutilation,suicideideationandimpulsivityscoresandpsychiatricdiagnosis historyoffirst-degreerelativeswerehigher inthepatientgroup. LevelsofVitaminB12 andfolicacidweresimilar inbothgroupsandnotcorrelatedwithsuicidalbehavior/selfmutilationandsuicidal ideation. Conclusion: Therewas a significant associationbetweenadultADHDand suicidal behavior/self-mutilation. Suicide-relatedconsequenceswereparticularly relatedto impulsivity. ItmayberecommendedtoscreenindividualswithADHDforsuicidal ideation andimpulsivitytoreduceriskybehaviors.However, itdoesnotsupportthehypothesisof arelationshipbetweenlowB12andfolateandsuicidalityinadultADHD.
