Özet

Postmortem analysis is defined as the examination of a deceased individual to ascertain the underlying cause of death, the time of death, and the identity of the decedent. In recent years, the relationship between microbiota and postmortem analysis has become an important area of research. The postmortem microbiome provides information on the time of death, the cause of death, the circumstances of death, and personal identification by examining the role of microorganisms in the body of the deceased individual. Postmortem microbiota analysis focuses on the types, quantities, and distribution of microorganisms present in the dead body. Research findings have indicated that microbes undergo predictable changes during the various stages of decomposition, with the gut microbiota in particular exhibiting rapid alterations. These changes can also provide clues to the presence of diseases that lead to death. The human microbiome is understood to vary depending on a number of factors, including age, gender, ethnicity, environmental factors, and nutrition. While the potential of microbiomes to determine the manner and cause of death is promising, further research is needed for reliable results.
