In this study, a total of 30 Turkish style dry sausage (sucuk) was collected from local meat product retailers, and these samples were investigated for the occurence of Listeria monocytogenes and other Listeria spp. While a total of 7 samples (23.3 %) was Listeria-positive, only 5 (16.7 %) of those samples contained L. monocytogenes, 7 samples (23.3 %) L. innocua, and one (3.3 %) L. seeligeri. When the samples containing Listeria were quantitatively analyzed, the number of Listeria was very low.
